IREM INCEDAYI Rome

Irem Incedayi was born in Rome into a family of artists. Her father, Timur K. Incedayi, is a member of the artistic movement “Il Metropolismo.” Incedayi graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1994. Her cultural roots extend from the East to the West. During her frequent stays in Istanbul, Incedayi was captivated by a refined and mysterious world of palaces and mosques that shine and dissolve in the golden dust of the Bosphorus sunrises and sunsets. The fundamental themes within her works include the classicism of Rome, the opulence of ancient Constantinople, the frescoes of Pompeii, the ruins of Ephesus, and Islamic decorative motifs. Mythology is a recurring theme in her works and often serves as the guiding thread of her artistic production.
