Maugeri lives and works in Rome. With an academic background in economics, he begins his artistic activity by following an articulated and informal expressive path. A collector, explorer, visionary, he doesn’t paint, he experiments. He allows gestures to transform his intuitions into artworks. Unprecedented, common, alternative elements become pretexts for self-expression, with a perfect alignment between idea, material, and object. It’s a challenge to consumerism, conventions, rationality, and rules. His artworks translate into expressive modules that find endless possibilities of articulation based on spaces, situations, and current moods, in a manner that is never static or definitive, but always provisional, unstable, and evolving over time.
