Claudio Parmiggiani

Claudio Parmiggiani

CLAUDIO PARMIGGIANI Luzzara, 1943
Italian painter and sculptor, Claudio Parmiggiani is considered one of the protagonists of the international artistic avant-garde with completely original and innovative insights, obstinate and determined in pursuing independence within the national artistic context in a way deliberately out of any group and label.
The artist makes a use of objects tending towards poetic, to the cultured association of elements that have a symbolic character with a strong thematization of the relationship between light and shadow.
It tends to investigate the association between natural, plant, animal and human elements in a game based on the implications of the relationship between civilization and artificial forms.
In his career he constantly shines and remains one of the main figures of Italian art after World War II.
Unclassifiable, it skirts both poor and conceptual art, taking on a unique and inimitable position in the contemporary panorama.
