Vik Muniz

VIK MUNIZ San Paolo, 1961
“As children we are all artists, growing most of us
it loses contact with the illusory world of imagination. Only those who manage to keep it unchanged can become true artists as adults ”

In his works, Vik Muniz uses his formidable ability to communicate through images, expressing himself with techniques learned from advertising. His works are rich in irony and illusory, made mostly from unusual materials such as chocolate, sugar, earth and all kinds of waste.
Muniz began his artistic career by drawing and creating objects of all kinds. But then he devoted himself almost exclusively to the photographic reproduction of his three-dimensional artifacts. Since then this “illusionist”, to whom exhibitions have been dedicated in the most famous museums in the world, has continued to produce splendid photographs of his works.
