Description

Affiche created for Roy Lichtenstein’s retrospective at Moma, New York. The image is taken from the painting “Drawning Girl” dated 1963. The artwork is taken from the original comic “Run For Love”, the melodramatic story of DC Comic’s Secret Love #83 dated 1962. In the original comic the girl’s boyfriend appears in the background clining to an upset boat. Lichtenstein cuts out the image so the girl appears alone and with her head surronded by a vortex of water and modifies the dialogue in: “I don’t care! I’d rather sink.. Than call Brad for help”.
