Italian photographer who artistically developed in New York, where he lived for several years. Stefanelli began to express his creativity, perfecting his very personal way of photographing and reworking images with innovative techniques. After America, he discovered Japan, which, with its light and colors, further influenced the evolution of his photographic art, intimately linked to the magic of Polaroid instant film.

Italian photographer who artistically developed in New York, where he lived for several years. Stefanelli began to express his creativity, perfecting his very personal way of photographing and reworking images with innovative techniques. After America, he discovered Japan, which, with its light and colors, further influenced the evolution of his photographic art, intimately linked to the magic of Polaroid instant film. From 2003 to 2008, he held the position of Artistic Director of the International Festival "Orvieto Fotografia." In 2010, he participated as a speaker at the "Second European Congress of Professional Photographers" held in Lyon. He has collaborated as a teacher with public and private institutions and companies, including the Politecnico di Milano, IED Rome, and MiMa Verona. He has also collaborated on various artistic projects with POLAROID, LEVI'S STRAUSS, L'OREAL, NOKIA, EPSON, GREY GROUP, YOUNG and RUBICAM, NIPPON TELEVISION, and ZOOM MAGAZINE. His works are preserved in the Polaroid International Museum USA, the National Photography Museum of Brescia, the Civic Gallery of Modena, the CIFA - Italian Center of Author Photography, the Lishui Photography Museum - China, the Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, and other public and private collections, both nationally and internationally. Since June 2009, he has embarked on a project of storytelling through images and words (photography - and poetry - in the service of creative fury) on umbertostefanelli.com, which is still ongoing. He is currently active, through agents or representatives, in Europe, United States, China, and Japan.
